Professional service from a small team of dedicated air cargo specialists
providing experience, neutrality and flexibility.
Skyroute Logistics was launched in 1993 to provide a reliable
and secure way for companies to export their products
into Russia and the CIS.
| At that
time, manufacturing and service industry businesses
all over the world were being attracted to
the potential of this new, emerging market.
They all, however, faced the same challenge
ensuring their goods arrived safely at their
destination, on time and in perfect condition.
Skyroute's network to Russia and the CIS expanded
rapidly and included scheduled freighter services
to over 60 destinations plus airport-to-airport
and airport-to-door delivery and charter brokerage. |

The company
was founded by Roy Parmenter and Steven Matthews
after undertaking and extensive 3-month tour
of Southern Russia and the adjacent CIS states.
The purpose was to establish the viability
of part-charter air cargo services to the
region. The result was a pioneering weekly
IL76 freighter service operation from Manston
UK to Stavropol Southern Russia. Stavropol
quickly became established as the hub in a
hub and spoke distribution system using smaller
freighter aircraft to serve the capital cities
of the surrounding republics. 1995 - the market
economies are developing and scheduled
airline passenger services to the CIS major
cities began to operate. In response to this,
and recognising the vast potential of the
area, Skyroute proceeded to create a wide
range of products and services to over 100
destinations in the former Soviet Union. |
The late 1990's - Russia exports
indicate potential downturn in favour of the CIS
states. Skyroute turns to specialising in single
entity freight charters on behalf of the oil &
gas industry into Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan
and commercial traffic to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
The IL76 Russian freighter - icon of the majority
of freight movement into Russia & the CIS for
the past decade - is banned in Europe. Skyroute
quick - yet saddened to acknowledge the demise -
markets the first B747 part charter freighter service
between Luxembourg and Bishkek - Kyrgyzstan. August
2003 Skyroute Logistics celebrated its 10th Anniversary
in providing air and logistics solutions for companies
exporting their goods to Russia and the CIS. A further
4 years on, the company has refined and expanded
its expertise and knowledge of the region with co-operation
alliances both throughout Russia and the CIS and
within the global markets that comprise the regions
major trading partners.
